The mailbox lock feature is used when you are editing or reading an email, or viewing your address book, and have to step away from your computer for a short time. To protect the confidentiality and security of your mailbox data, you can temporarily lock the mailbox interface to prevent others from viewing your emails and address book.

What is email encryption?

When you send an email using the email encryption feature, the recipient will need to know the password to view the body of the email, better protecting your privacy.

How do I send an encrypted email?

After logging into your mailbox, go to the compose page and edit your email. Check the "Email Encryption" option below the editing box, set a 6-digit password for viewing, and you can also check "Save password in sent mail" if needed. Then click "Send." As shown in the figure:

(If you check "Save password in sent mail" when sending, you can view the password of this encrypted email by opening it in the "Sent Items" folder. If you do not check it, the password will not be saved.)

I received an encrypted email. How do I decrypt it?

• 1) If you are using a Coremail mailbox: After logging in, you can see the encrypted email. Encrypted emails are distinguished by a small lock icon in front of the subject. Click the email subject and enter the password in the yellow prompt area above the body to decrypt it. (Note: If you use a client to check for encrypted emails in your Coremail mailbox, we recommend that you open a browser and view the encrypted email on the web page, as support may vary between clients.)
• 2) If you are not using a Coremail mailbox:
  Method 1: You can forward the email to a Coremail-supported mailbox (e.g., NetEase Mailbox), and then enter the password to decrypt it when reading.

How do I encrypt my network drive and folders?

Users can lock and protect data within their mailbox's "Network Drive" and "Custom Folders." The security lock provides triple protection to prevent others from using or viewing private files:

• Password verification is required to enter the locked area.
• Password verification is required to search for emails in the locked area.
• Password verification is required to empty or delete locked folders.

SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. After using this protocol, all the data you submit will be encrypted first before being sent to the mail system, which can effectively prevent hackers from stealing your username, password, and communication content, thus ensuring the security of your personal content.

Steps: On the mailbox login page, select "SSL Secure Login" to log in to the mailbox.

With dynamic passwords that automatically update every 60 seconds, it provides secure anti-theft technology. Static password plus dynamic password for two-factor authentication is more secure. The dynamic security of the Coremail mail system is applicable to webmail and mobile templates, and now you can use dynamic password protection for mobile login as well.

After a user binds their mobile phone to their mailbox, they can use a dynamic password received via SMS to log in to the Coremail mail system. The Coremail mail system can prevent users' login passwords from being too simple and being guessed by forcing them to set a strong password.

By setting a password expiration date, Coremail forces mailbox users to change their passwords regularly to continue using the mail system, further strengthening mailbox security.

When a user's password is guessed more than the allowed frequency, the Coremail mail system follows a "lock IP and user" logic. This prevents other users on the same IP from being affected and avoids the inconvenience of unlocking for the user, making it ideal for companies with shared IPs.
